Eminent Speaker: Shaikh Ibrahim Hammoud
Shaikh Ibrahim Hamoud’s Visit to Brisbane
Shaikh Ibrahim al-Hamoud is a professor at the Maahad al-’Aali lil Qada (High Institute for Judges) at the Jamiat-ul-Imam University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His visit to Brisbane was hosted by HikmahWay Institute as per request from the Saudi Arabian Consulate. His company was a blessing to the Muslims in Brisbane and his talks was very beneficial. The accurate translation by Shaikh Aslam AbuIsmaeel also assisted the audience to understand the gems and pearls of his knowledge.

Inaugural Brisbane Convention - Iman the Online Age
In April 2011, AMYN and HikmahWay Institute organised their first annual Brisbane Islamic Convention. Shaykh Hussain Yee from Malaysia was invited as a special guest to this event. During the event, Shaykh Hussain Yee shared gems of his experience in Da’wah to the audience. He also related very inspirational stories of his conversion to Islam and his experiences while he was studying in the Islamic University of Madinah.
Shaykh Aslam AbuIsmaeel participated in this convention and delivered the first talk of inspiring series entitled “7 Steps to Iman in the Online Age” . The speech that he gave during the convention was an introduction to the ‘7 steps Iman in the Online Age’ series (http://www.youtube.com/Sunnahinspirations ) The event was attended by more than 300 people with the participation of local Brisbane scholars. Insha-Allah, HikmahWay Institute and AMYN hope to make this as an annual event.

Ramadaan Knights day-long intensive course is a professionally designed course that prepares Muslims for the blessed month of Ramadan. The course was initially offered in Brisbane and Melbourne and was later extended to 7 different cities throughout Australia and New Zealand. Many have praised the delivery and the content of the course and currently this is offered annually in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth in Australia, and Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand.
In Love... Forever! Marriage Course
This eagerly-anticipated course was developed in response to the desire of the Muslim, either single or married, to find a formula for everlasting true love in their marriage. Shaikh Aslam AbuIsmaeel, who is an experienced marriage counsellor and a scholar of Islam, eloquently compared and contrasted modern marriage theory with the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and emphasised that Islam provides solutions for marriage life. Alhamdulillah, many Muslims, both singles and married, benefited a great deal from this course. This course was held in nine major cities in Australia and New Zealand with approximately 3000 people attending.

“Da’wah Course In-person”
HikmahWay Institute recognises the need to have well-grounded knowledge in propagating the message of Islam. To cater for this need, HikmahWay initiated delivery of a unique Da’wah course, which was well-received by the attendees. The second round of the course will commence in 2011/12 Insha-Allah.
“Da’wah Course Online”
Living in a non-Muslim environment provides an opportunity for the Muslim engage in Da’wah activities. A concern though is when one’s Islamic knowledge is not ready for it. The Online Da’wah course is an initiative by HikmahWay to train future callers to Islam. This course is an expansion to the In-person Daw’ah course. Taught by Ustadh Imtiaz Ahmed, the student of eminent Scholar of comparative religion Dr. Zakir Naik, the course is run through an interactive online conferencing module. The course runs on a weekly basis and teaches both basic and advanced comparative religion techniques. Approximately 250 students undertook the course from over 25 countries across the globe. Since its success in the past, many have asked for it to be repeated. As such, Insha-Allah, HikmahWay will admit its second intake by the beginning of next year.
